No. You will need to sign up for a Costco Travel account to hire a car.
The car hire programme is offered as another service to your Costco membership. Our goal is to offer outstanding car hire value which is only available to Costco members. Just like in a Costco warehouse, we offer brand names you recognise and trust.
Your Costco Travel account is different and requires a separate registration. After you have registered, you can log in to your profile at any time to view or print your car hire reservations.
All prices will reflect applicable Costco member discounts and applicable coupons, plus any taxes and fees. Our Low Price Finder will automatically calculate the best applicable coupon combinable with the Costco member discount, based on the length of hire, car type, location, reservation and travel dates.
Amendments cannot be made to bookings once they are confirmed. We suggest you create a new booking with the amendments you require and cancel the old booking.

To cancel your pay later reservation online:
1.Log in to your Costco Travel account in top menu bar.
2.Select the Current booking you wish to cancel.
3.Near the top click on "Cancel".
4.Click yes, when the pop-up message asks to confirm cancellation.
5.Confirmation of your cancellation will be emailed to you. There is no charge for cancelling your pay later car hire reservation.
To cancel your prepaid reservation please call 0800 0147 386 and select option 1. Please check the below FAQ regarding penalties for prepaid cancellations.
For Alamo and Enterprise reservations if you cancel within 3 days of the reservation pickup date and time, you will incur a £40 fee. If you do not cancel the reservation prior to pickup and if you do not utilise the reservation, or if you fail to comply with the pickup terms and conditions as described, you will incur a £125 fee.
For Hertz reservations if you cancel within 2 days of the reservation pickup date and time, you will incur a £30 fee. If you do not cancel the reservation prior to pickup and if you do not utilise the reservation, or if you fail to comply with the pickup terms and conditions as described, you will incur a £70 fee.
Confirmation of your cancellation will be emailed to you. Charges, minus the cancellation fee, will be refunded to the credit card or debit card used to make the reservation.
Once your cancellation has been confirmed your refund will be processed within 10 working days. This may vary depending on your bank.
Renters who wish to use a debit card may be subject to additional checks by the car hire company. The car hire company reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further ID checks. These may include ID checks with external partners who may check supplied details against databases to which they have access. This is not applicable when paying with a credit card.
Costco Car Hire is constantly evolving, whilst we may have a limited offering at the time of your search please check back in with us at a later date for updated cities/destinations.

A major credit card must be presented at time of pickup in the renter's name. Occasionally during pickup, monetary holds are placed on credit cards for car hires above a certain price. For specific types of cards accepted and inquiries regarding hold amounts, it is suggested that you contact the car company location directly. (The phone number is listed on your invoice.)
Yes, at the time of car pick up the car hire agent may ask to see the lead renter's Costco membership card.
Yes, if the primary driver has a valid membership card to show at time of pickup. (Note: The primary driver is not required to be the member who logged in and reserved online, but they must have their own membership card to present at time of pickup.)
Yes. Immediately after the car is reserved, a confirmation email is sent to the email address provided during the booking process. In addition, a final confirmation is sent four days prior to pick up. If no email is found in your inbox, check the junk or spam folder for a message from email@example.com.
Yes. After making the reservation, you will receive an email with the car hire company confirmation number on. This confirmation number can be used on the car hire company's website to review your reservation.
No. Rates fluctuate based on demand, availability and marketplace forces. There is no exact method to determining a rate. However, rates generally revolve around daily (up to four days, Monday through Wednesday); weekend (up to four days, Thursday through Sunday); weekly (five to 20+ days); and monthly rates (28 days or more). To find the best rate, you should select based on travel needs, and then adjust different pick up/drop-off days and times accordingly. Please note: Any change to pick up/drop-off time or date could increase the cost of the hire.
Just as there is no set method in determining a rate due to demand, availability and marketplace forces, the same applies to car categories. A certain location may have less inventory of an intermediate car due to demand, thus making a standard more reasonably priced.
Drivers younger than 30 and older than 70 may incur a fee when reserving a vehicle. The fee varies by company and location, and Costco Car Hire does not have the ability to determine the underage driver fee for each location. Car categories may also be limited for drivers younger than 30. Please call 0800 0147 386 to book directly with the car hire company.
Many locations provide unlimited mileage; however, it depends on the specific location and car hire company. To view mileage or geographic restrictions, please refer to the 'Geographic Restrictions/Mileage Rule' bullet to the right of the selected car on the car hire grid.
For all car hire companies, Costco Car Hire does not support picking up at a neighborhood location and dropping off at a different neighborhood location. Alamo and Enterprise support one-way rentals as long as the pick-up and drop-off locations are within the same country. Hertz supports one-way rentals that are intercountry.
There are drop fees or a higher rates for one-way car hires. These rates are included in the price shown on the search matrix and a breakdown of these rates are shown on the overview page when making a reservation.
Yes, you can hire a car for longer than 30 days. For car hires longer than 30 days you may be asked to return to a brand location to renew your car hire agreement during this time.
For pre-paid bookings your rate including taxes will not change once payment is taken. For pay later bookings, base rates do not change, but taxes are subject to change. Any tax fluctuations are outside the control of Costco Car Hire.
Yes, as determined by the car hire company. Please check directly with the location to know all hire parameters.
Collision Damage Waiver reduces the liability you are responsible for in the event of damage to the vehicle. An excess amount is applicable, to find out the specific excess amount for your rental please check the rental terms and conditions or call the location directly. The number for the rental location is on your confirmation email.
To check what is included and excluded as part of your Collision Damage Waiver please check your rental terms and conditions.
If you wish to reduce your excess amount this can be done by purchasing additional coverage from Alamo, Enterprise or Hertz. This can be added at the counter when collecting your rental.
Optional insurance through the car hire company is available. For more information, you must contact the car hire company directly.
You can add your Alamo and Enterprise loyalty number to the booking at the counter when you pick up your hire car. Unfortunately, at this time you cannot add your Hertz loyalty number.
